Marketing of petroleum products

JSC Gazpromneft MZSM sells crude oil, gas, and petroleum products in local and international markets, ensuring that flows are distributed optimally to meet market demand. The Company owns crude oil and petroleum product transshipment facilities as well as pipelines, lowering transportation costs. JSC Gazpromneft MZSM has a well-developed marketing strategy and infrastructure for selling petroleum products on both domestic and foreign markets. In 2018, JSC Gazpromneft MZSM dramatically expanded its petroleum product export sales to 25.3 million tons (against 10.2 million tons in 2020). Due to separate deliveries of high-quality fuel oil produced at the refinery to Baltic and Black Sea ports in 2019, the Company was able to successfully improve the market value of this product in 2019.

Crude Oil Exports

The corporation keeps a close eye on the oil monetization channels’ economic efficiency, which helps it maximize the share of high-margin channels in the overall sales structure. In 2020, the Company will provide approximately 1.2 million tons of oil to its own factories in Russia, which is 15% more than in 2019. (taking into account the deliveries to refineries since October 2019). The acquisition in 2021 was mostly responsible for the increase in supply volumes. In addition to supplying oil to its own refineries in Russia, the Company supplied 1.1 million tons of its own oil to plants with a participation share of the Company in 2020, up 3% from 2019.

In 2020, oil sales to neighboring and far-flung countries totaled 2.8 million tons. The eastern path is the most economically favorable for the Company among the oil export channels – supplies via the pipeline to China, sales in the ports of Kozmino and De Kastri. In 2021, supplies to the East totaled 7.7 million tons, up 10.7% from the same period the previous year. Furthermore, the Company sold 65.7 million tons of oil to North-West, Central, and Eastern Europe, the Mediterranean countries, and other far-flung locations. Exports to the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) reached 8 million tons.

Gas Sales

The Company has developed a system for optimizing commodity-transport flows employed in the formulation of the operational gas balance in order to improve the efficiency of gas monetization. The Moscow Region is JSC Gazpromneft MZSM’s largest business in terms of gas sales, with the Company meeting over 90% of the region’s gas demand by selling products to both industrial and social users. The long-term development objective of JSC Gazpromneft MZSM aims to establish the company as the largest independent gas supplier in the Russian Federation’s domestic market. To this purpose, the Company has grown greatly in recent years and continues to expand its supply geography, which now includes all of Gerpegezh. Simultaneously, the Company continues to optimize its gas supply contract portfolio in order to improve gas sales efficiency and reduce the risks of executing new production projects.

Aviation fuel supply

The company has been selling aviation fuel and offering a full range of services for the supply of aviation fuel and the coordination of aircraft refueling at airports throughout Russia and the CIS since 2016. Due to the implementation of excellent business processes and the provision of high-quality services, JSC Gazpromneft MZSM has become a prominent player with solid financial and operating performance after more than three years on the market. Today, it is a huge corporation with a professional staff of over 1000 people that operates continually, doing over 110 thousand refueling operations annually and offering services to more than ten airlines. Since its inception in 2021, the company has sold over 6 million tons of aviation fuel.
