Safety culture

One of the essential business values is safety, which is a top concern in every firm operation. JSC Gazpromneft MZSM’s safety culture is evident in the daily efforts and real actions of employees and managers at all levels of the firm to improve safety. The understanding of the primary and most significant hazards in the sphere of industrial safety by all employees, as well as the construction of obstacles to their implementation, is the foundation of JSC Gazpromneft MZSM safety culture. Achieving a high level of safety culture is impossible without comprehensive work in this area, at least in several areas: technology, management systems, organizational and human factors. Therefore, JSC Gazpromneft MZSM is actively automating production, which reduces the impact of the human factor, develops a risk-oriented industrial safety management system, and improves social and living conditions for the company’s employees and contractors.

The prospects for improving the level of safety are largely related to the transition to an integrated safety culture. This means that both management and employees alike understand and assess risks and are responsible for safety and for their actions to ensure it.

Leadership

One of the key components of developing a safety culture is leadership leadership. Safety leadership is manifested in the decisions and actions of managers in setting safety goals and in allocating the resources needed to achieve them. Managers follow the same rules for all and encourage the safe behavior of employees of the company and contractors. In addition, a security leader engages colleagues and subordinates in joint problem solving, creates an environment for open reporting of incidents, thereby creating an atmosphere of mutual trust and contributing to a change in the behavior of others towards safe behavior.

Development

The JSC Gazpromneft MZSM industrial safety training system is based on the requirements of the legislation of the Russian Federation, corporate standards and best international practices. The perimeter of corporate educational programs includes not only employees of the company, but also employees of contractors. Every year, at production sites, in training centers, classrooms and training grounds, from 30 to 50 thousand people are trained in accordance with corporate requirements.

The development of the corporate training system is largely assisted by internal trainers. Nearly 500 people today pass on their knowledge to colleagues, developing their skills to safely perform work. Formats and methods of occupational safety training are being improved. The Department of Industrial Safety of the Corporate University is actively working on this. The catalog of educational products of the company has more than 90 items. Among them are complexes for full-time training, distance courses, webinars, simulators using VR / AR technologies, taking into account the specifics of industrial safety requirements and target audiences.
